Ice Fishing
Our 2020 season was our best season since our establishment. The fishing had glimpses of those early childhood memories by seeing coolers a little more full than recent years. Our Steelhead fishing remains spectacular with plenty of fish and a lot weighing between 10 to 15 pound range. Salmon fishing continues to improve since the agreement to plant more salmon in Lake Michigan. Doubles are triples were of the norm during those twilight times of the day. Size of the King Salmon continue to be above average and a variety of age classes were caught each trip. Kewaunee also took home the reigns of catching the biggest fish in the annual K/D Tournament weighing just under a whooping 33 pounds!
Recently we have had a change of pace in regards of target species. We saw plenty of interest from our clientele to target Northern Pike, Brown Trout, and Steelhead which differed from our regular whitefish trips. Last ice season we saw some giant brown trout and boy where they fun to land through the ice. The Brown Trout we caught were between the 8 to 20 pound range. The Northern Pike are plentiful which can make a day pretty busy chasing one after another tip ups. Our ice house used as a warming center and to watch those sporting events you would normally miss while going fishing, you won't miss no more. So invite your friends and let's have a tailgate party chasing tip ups and watching the game!
